But with a lot of effort, the ice has not given us a single cm. The weight of the pulkas in the soft snow makes us drag an even heavier load, it seems that we go in procession cm by cm. Every kilometer has been an ordeal for 7 hours, but we are enormously fortunate to be in the mythical Northwest Passage. Surely we are among the few humans who have been able to see the huge cliffs of Prince of Wales Island over the frozen sea.
